Apparently Jerusalem was under siege three times by Nebuchadnezzar.  In 605 BC, 597 BC, and 587 BC.  It must have been a scary time.  70 years after the last siege, the temple was rebuilt and in operation.  Here is a decent article (although the 931 BC date for the dividing of Israel is wrong.  It should be 980 BC.)  https://www.preceptaustin.org/jehovah_shammah
