God appears to have told us the maximum we can live. “My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; so his days will be one hundred twenty years.” Genesis 6:3 God decided to reduce man’s lifespan down to 120 years from 900+.
“Yahweh God commanded the man, saying, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but you shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.” Genesis 2:16
God put the limit of fallen Adamic life at 1,000 years (One Day). That means that most of us will have 900 or so years left to live when we are brought to life. Those that choose life will live on past 1,000 years into eternity. Interestingly, Solomon hints that death may still be around past Jesus’ millennial reign:
“If a man fathers a hundred children, and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not filled with good, and moreover he has no burial; I say that a stillborn child is better than he: for it comes in vanity, and departs in darkness, and its name is covered with darkness. Moreover it has not seen the sun nor known it. This has rest rather than the other. Yes, though he live a thousand years twice told, and yet fails to enjoy good, don’t all go to one place?” Ecclesiastes 6:3-6
That one place he’s referring to is death. When death itself is destroyed is an open question. “For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:25-26
“Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:14
