Most people know the gospel as ‘Believe or Burn’. But the actual gospel is less intimidating. People forget that the resurrection applies to everyone, not just believers. The judgment isn’t just a sentencing but a trial that lasts perhaps centuries. Jesus said his burden is light and his yoke is easy. Jesus came into the world not to condemn the world but to save it. That’s the resurrection. People are not just burning in hell to be resurrected only to be told “you’re bad!” and sent back into hell. No. Second death is the penalty for ultimate unbelief in the second life. Not eternal torment. Death. Finis. Done. God has a statute of limitations on evil.
