In 1 Chronicles 21, just before king David buys the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite to build the temple, Satan incited him to a military census. 1,100,000 swordsmen were counted in all Israel. But the Levites and Benjamites weren’t counted because Joab thought it was detestable. Why? Why is this in the bible? Do the Levites and Benjamites represent those in heaven? Is there a counting in heaven just before the heavenly temple is begun construction? We have no way of knowing, but it’s fun to wonder. Imagine what we will see on the other side!
