“When they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him [Stephen]; and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul.” Acts 7:58
“Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him [Stephen] to death.” Acts 8:1
Saul then has a massive conversion on the road to Damascus. He was chosen supernaturally by Jesus as a replacement for Judas. He became the greatest apostle. He is definitely of the very elect, the bride of Christ. And so is Stephen. But doesn’t justice demand Paul repent to Stephen? If both receive immortality instantly upon resurrection, isn’t repentance a moot point? For this reason and others some have doubts about instant immortality. Yes immortality comes, but when? The Eighth Day is a good guess.
