How about this: God raises everyone from the dead, then makes a deal. You can eat from the trees of life to develop perfect health and eternal life IF you repent to those you sinned against and forgive those who sinned against you. If you refuse, you will eventually die a second time. What do you think? Fair? Maybe that’s why it’s in the Lord’s Prayer:
“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Matthew 6:12
To make sure there’s no misunderstanding:
“For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.” Matthew 6:14-15
