How could Jesus pick Judas? The answer is that either Jesus didn’t know the future, or even if he did he obeyed his Father in selecting the twelve disciples. It was later revealed to him that Judas would betray him. “Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.) John 6:70-71 Jesus was not all-knowing: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Matthew 24:36
