Investing & Prophecy

It seems there are many parallels between investing & prophecy.  They both have to do with discerning the future.  The advantage with prophecy is that God has given us the answers ahead of time, even if in a hidden and convoluted way.  It’s amazing how many times I’ve seen investing prognosticators be wrong.  Same goes for most prophecy experts.  Seems they miss certain key data, or have the wrong model in their head to begin with.  With regard to prophecy, one consistent problem is ignorance of the chronology coupled with the tendency to think the end has to come quickly.  Even Jesus is recorded as saying this: “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.”  Revelation 2:5

“Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.”  Revelation 2:16

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”  Revelation 3:11

“The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.”  Revelation 11:14

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”  Revelation 22:7

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”  Revelation 22:12

“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”  Revelation 22:20

It says ‘quickly’ arguably seven times!  But what does it mean quickly?  Peter caught on fast enough that this may be from God’s standpoint: “ But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.   The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”  2 Peter 3:8-9

Quickly may encompass the entirety of the Millennial reign of Christ.
