Christ & Antichrist

Solomon seems to typify both Christ and Antichrist.

“Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore.  Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.  For he was wiser than all other people, more than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was known in all the surrounding nations.  He also told three thousand proverbs, and his songs numbered 1,005.  He told of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that grows on the wall; he told also of animals, birds, crawling things, and fish.  People came from all the nations to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.” 1 Kings 4:29-34

“So the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.” 1 Kings 11:42

“Now it came about at the end of twenty years in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house,” 1 Kings 9:10

After Solomon spent 20 years of his 40 year reign building the Temple and Palaces, he started to go south.

“Now King Solomon loved many foreign women along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women, from the nations of which the Lord had said to the sons of Israel, “You shall not associate with them, nor shall they associate with you; they will certainly turn your heart away to follow their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.  He had seven hundred wives, who were princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned his heart away.  For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away to follow other gods; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of his father David had been.  For Solomon became a follower of Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and of Milcom the abhorrent idol of the Ammonites.  So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not follow the Lord fully, as his father David had doneThen Solomon built a high place for Chemosh, the abhorrent idol of Moab, on the mountain that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abhorrent idol of the sons of Ammon.  He also did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.

Now the Lord was angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, and had commanded him regarding this thing, that he was not to follow other gods; but he did not comply with what the Lord had commanded.  So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since you have done this, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will certainly tear the kingdom away from you, and will give it to your servant.  However, I will not do it in your days, only for the sake of your father David; but I will tear it away from the hand of your son.  Yet I will not tear away all the kingdom, but I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.” 1 Kings 11:1-13

It is notable that the midpoint of Solomon’s reign is approximately 500 years from the Exodus: “Now it came about in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, that is, the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.” 1 Kings 6:1

Plus… “Now it came about at the end of twenty years in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house,” 1 Kings 9:10

500 years is of course half of 1,000. Christ reigns for a thousand years: “and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4

Half way through the Hebrew year is Trumpets, the day of judgment. Slightly past half way through the year is Yom Kippur, the day of Atonement, Israel’s national salvation. Half way through Solomon’s reign we get this note: “Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold.” 1 Kings 10:14

The only other place in the bible this number shows up is: “It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.” Revelation 13:16-18

Will the Antichrist be at its zenith right before the Day of Atonement? Might this occur during the 1,000 year reign of Christ? Does Evening come before Morning in Hebrew days? When does the sun [son] rise?
