Most people probably spend way more time listening to media than reading the bible. Even casual conversation with Christians reveals that most know little about the bible. A few know a goodly amount. And most people’s understanding of core beliefs comes from official church doctrine. But when some raise serious problems with official doctrine, the reaction is either ‘it’s a mystery’ or ‘we just don’t know, but God will work it out’. Paul says test everything. The scientific method! When problems and questions arise, we need to consult with the bible. The WHOLE bible. Apparent contradictions yield excellent questions. As Jesus said, “Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
Notice a time frame is not included! The door may be opened in the next life. And don’t forget to follow the money. Most of us worship money more than we like to admit. Remember that anyone who is not family or friend is trying to sell you something. The media is no exception. The CDC said in 1958 that smoking doesn’t cause lung cancer. How did that work out? Often the truth is hidden in plain sight. The problem is all the lies that surround it. If a truth is amongst 9 lies, what do most people see? How many consider all ten items to see which one is the truth?
