“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
How do we store treasures in heaven? Do we send by UPS? What’s the address? Can we store our book collection? No, we can only store our relationships there. God has promised to bless those that do good, and that will happen in the resurrection. Remember the parable of the talents?
“Now after a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’” Matthew 25:19-21
Notice how he says he will now put the man in charge of many things? Won’t this literally happen in the second life? During the Millennial reign? Yes. Christians have to remember that heaven is a promotion. The others are held back, like a child who must repeat second grade.
