Walking in the Garden

“They heard the voice of Adonai, God, walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, so the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Adonai, God, among the trees in the garden.” Genesis 3:8

Was this God the Father walking in the Garden of Eden?

“But my face,” he continued, “you cannot see, because a human being cannot look at me and remain alive.” Exodus 33:20

No one can see God and live. Therefore it must have been Jesus who was walking in the Garden. We also have this from the time of Moses:

“‘Y’varekh’kha Adonai v’yishmerekha.
[May Adonai bless you and keep you.]
Ya’er Adonai panav eleikha vichunekka.
[May Adonai make his face shine on you and show you his favor.]
Yissa Adonai panav eleikha v’yasem l’kha shalom.
[May Adonai lift up his face toward you and give you peace.]” Numbers 6:24-26

“But I know that my Redeemer lives,
that in the end he will rise on the dust;
so that after my skin has been thus destroyed,
then even without my flesh, I will see God.” Job 19:25-26

We will eventually see God when we are sinless.

“The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him; they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.” Revelation 22:3-4

Note how it states God and the Lamb as two distinct beings. We will then be able to see God the Father’s face.
